After working with CRT’s 3rd party works team we have successfully obtained a permit for private moorings in Colwich. The works not only created a new mooring but also stabilised the bank. The works were undertaken with our grab barge, which could load, carry and install the materials (piles, concrete & bricks) to site. The materials had to be loaded 2 miles away as there was no access through the back garden and then floated to site. Due to the works being in a heritage area, brickwork was requested to finish the canal bank wall above water level. This was built onto a foundation, supported by L8 piles which were again installed from the crane boat using a hydraulic piling hammer.
