Protecting the future

5,406 trees planted…
and counting

We are proud to have achieved carbon neutral positive status with Carbon Footprint Ltd. They have assessed our carbon emissions within the business, and we have offset our carbon footprint with a School treeplanting scheme in England and an Amazon rainforest preventing deforestation scheme.

In addition to this we have launched our ‘Plant Hire – Plant Tree’ initiative which for every week’s boat hire we plant a tree. This has seen us plant over 1200 native trees in the last year.

FEATURED CASE STUDY

Habitat Creation Coney Meadows, Droitwich

Coney Meadows is part of a nationwide project to restore the UK’s wetlands. Since the 17th century, large areas of reedbeds have been stripped and converted into agricultural land, massively reducing the number of habitats available for wetland animals.

Changing the Shape of the River Derwent, Derby

Following the storm seasons of 2023 & 2024, the EA set out to review its impact on the UK’s waterways. The River Derwent in Derby was flagged after a sonar scan of its navigation identified a scour hole – a direct result of heavy rainfall pushing sediment downstream.

Fishing Lake Maintenance Top Tips

Few things are more relaxing than a day spent by a well-stocked fishpond. The sun bright in the sky, a gentle breeze rippling the water, a small flock of ducks quaking and swimming among the reeds. It’s an angler’s dream. But it can all go so wrong. Ropy algae, stagnant water, suffocating fish. Poor maintenance can transform a beautiful, serene fishpond into something that looks more like a bog.

Mechanical Dredging vs Hydraulic Dredging: Which is Better?

Dredging is the practice of removing sediments and debris from the bottom of lakes, rivers, harbours, and other water bodies. Over time, sediments like sand and silt are carried by waterways downstream. Sedimentation gradually fills up the water body, decreasing its depth, and creating challenges for navigability and increasing the risk of flooding.
